President Rob Jeffrey

Rob Jeffrey's background is in the agricultural sector, having held a number of executive positions in the dairy and pork industries. Rob's family company, Jeffco International Ltd, has been involved in Export since 1960, mainly in livestock and the agritech sector. In recent years, investments have been made in logistics, food processing and international consultancy and for the past 12 years the company has had a formal established office in Asia. A Tauranga resident, Rob was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to agriculture and export in 2004 and has been named a Fellow of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand.

Vice President David Binning

David Binning has had an extensive career in Shell Chemicals and in the start up and management of a step out company, Robert Chemicals Ltd. Robert Chemicals became the leading manufacturer of base materials for the detergent and personal care industry in New Zealand with substantial export business to Australia, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong. Since leaving Shell, David has been involved with SME export businesses as a director, consultant and mentor.

Vice President(President Auckland Region) Ken Penniall

Ken Penniall is the Group Export Manager for Fletcher Insulation Australia and Tasman New Zealand, both part of Fletcher Building Group, which export regularly to the Middle East, South East Asia, Pacific and Americas. Ken has overseen the development of strategic alliances and QEM supply to many areas in the international energy conservation market sectors.

Immediate Past President Murray Davies

Murray Davies is past President of ENZ, having been National President for six years. From an engineering background, Murray Davies is an experienced investor with a wide range of private business interests with which he is actively involved. Chairman of Summit Capital Investments Ltd, Lexicon Group Ltd, Radius Group Ltd, Trethewey Granite and Marble Ltd and a director of Pohutukawa Private Equity Fund Ltd, Goatley Technology Ltd and numerous other private companies, he is also Chairman of Priorityone, responsible for regional development in the Tauranga region.

Philippa Ivory Auckland Representative (Vice President Auckland Region)

Philippa Ivory is a co founder of Eager Beaver Toys Ltd, a toy design and marketing company which exports award winning childrens toys to distributors in Australia, Canada, the USA and Germany. Philippa has been involved with Export New Zealand for the last few years, initially delivering training courses and mentoring services, then as a member of the Auckland Regional Executive, as Covenor of Judges for the Export Awards, Auckland and this year as a Regional Vice President and Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. Philippa has been involved in support services for SME's with Business Mentors NZ, the Young Enterprise programme and as a Virtual Advisor for NZTE. Philippa has worked in NZ and Australia for a variety of organisations from medium sized private companies to large corporates as part of management teams focused on change.

Colin Carr Wellington Representative (President Wellington Region)

Colin Carr has an accountancy background, working firstly for the World Bank, Washington DC before beginning a career in export marketing. Following a position with Lane Walker Rudkin in Canterbury and San Francisco, Colin joined Alliance Textiles establishing 'Swanndri' wool outerwear in the USA, then started his own company, Colin Carr Agencies Ltd, which specialises in selling uniforms to airlines and government departments and safety clothing and equipment throughout the South Pacific.

Jim Grennell Canterbury Representative (President Canterbury Region)

Jim Grennell is a senior Business Manager with the Wrightson Group, holding an International Sales and Marketing position with Wrightson Seeds Ltd., in Christchurch. In this role, Jim is responsible for export activities in the seeds business, including the establishment of new strategic business relationships in various territories around the world and the further development of existing key commercial relationships in several countries.

Gilbert Ullrich ONZM Chair ENZ International Trade & Transport Committee

Gilbert Ullrich is the founder of both Ullrich Aluminium and Ullrich Exports, which have extensive operations in both New Zealand and Australia. For more than thirty years, the companies have been exporting aluminium and building products to the Pacific, Indian Ocean and Middle East. Gilbert is a founder member, Past President and Fellow of the Export Institute (ENZ) and Chairman of the newly formed NZ Pacific Business Council. Gilbert is also Honorary Consul/Trade Representative for the Republic of Mauritius and was awarded Order of NZ Merit for contribution to export trade.

Simon Doig National Executive Board Member

Simon Doig has over 10 years experience in International Marketing and Global Business Development. This experience has included International Marketing roles in South Africa, New Zealand and the USA working for both large Multi-Nationals as well as small start to medium business ventures in foreign countries. More recently Mr. Doig has gained specialist skills in the global energy & steel industry market whilst working as a senior executive for Solid Energy NZ Ltd, highlighted by winning the 2004 New Zealand Exporter of the Year. Mr. Doig holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing), is currently undertaking an executive program at the Melbourne Business School, is a finalist in 2005 New Zealand Young Executive of the Year.

Robert (Bob) Walters CEO

Bob Walters is CEO of ENZ reporting to the National Board. He is a very experienced exporter with over thirty years business involvement though having been International General Manager of Building Products for Alex Harvey Industries (Now part of Carter Holt Harvey and Fletcher Building), GM of Feltex Carpets, Corporate Brands Manager and later Regional Development Manager, European Region for the NZ Dairy Board.
